The Story Behind Kiraz

Kiraz, meaning cherry in Turkish, is a tribute to Ruth, the winemaker’s wife and unwavering partner since the humble garage winemaking days. Ruth has always been the “cherry on the cake,” bringing balance and support to both the process and everyday life. From handpicking the first harvests to experimenting with innovative methods, their journey together has been a love affair with wine and dedication.

This rosé captures that spirit, blending tradition with precision to create a wine that reflects the harmony of their partnership. Kiraz is not just a wine—it’s a celebration of shared passion, craftsmanship, and the delicate artistry of winemaking.

Relish Kiraz’s Refinement

The Ultimate Cherry on Top

Kiraz is a rosé crafted with precision, featuring Syrah grapes harvested exclusively from the sunrise-facing side of the vines in Siġġiewi. This side, bathed in early light, ensures the fruit achieves optimal ripeness with well-balanced acidity.

With no skin contact, the grapes are chilled and gently pressed under an inert environment created using dry ice, preserving their delicate character. Fermentation at a cool 12 degrees enhances freshness, while partial malolactic fermentation adds a refined, harmonious mouthfeel. Matured in stainless steel and glass demijohns, Kiraz is polished for immediate enjoyment, yet offers the potential to age gracefully. This rosé reflects thoughtful craftsmanship and meticulous care.
